Introduction to 5 Solas
The Five Solas are five Latin phrases that summarize the core theological convictions of the 16th-century Protestant Reformation, where the word "sola" translates to "alone" or "only." The Protestant Reformers did not see these principles as new inventions, but rather as a vital recovery of the original Christian gospel, which they believed had been obscured by centuries of medieval church traditions, papal authority, and human rituals. By championing these five pillars, the Reformers sought to shift the focus of faith away from a man-centered system of earning salvation and place it entirely back onto the grace and authority of God. The Lecture is Rev. Dr. Jordan B. Cooper
